Disney Helps with Affordable Housing
According to the Disney Parks Blog, Disney World just earmarked 80 acres in Central Florida for affordable housing.
The development, which is expected to include more than 1,300 units, will be constructed by a third-party affordable housing developer and will be located on Disney’s land in southwest Orange County, Florida.
This isn’t the first time Disney has taken on initiatives in the housing industry. They’ve also worked in Anaheim, California, on the Buena Esperanza project, an initiative that helps Veterans and homeless individuals obtain housing as well as provides them with job placement help and assistance with mental health.
Another project, called Finamore Place, is in the works in California. This project will provide 100 additional housing units.
I’m happy to see Disney taking a step to help with housing in Central Florida.
